Sri Laxminarayana Temple

Honnalagere village is about 10kms from Maddur on the way to Kokkarebailu. Sri Laxminarayana Temple was built around 400 years ago in Vijayanagara style of architecture. Originally the walls of the temple were built using bricks, which were replaced with stone walls during restoration. The vegetation growth over the roof was completely removed. The temple was reconstructed after complete dismantling and strengthening the adhisthana. Suitable shikara was built over garbhagriha. Flooring inside and outside pradakshinapatha of the temple was laid with stone slabs. Prakara was constructed around the temple for protection. The restoration work of the temple was done during 2011-12.
