Sri Mooleshankreshwara Temple

Turuvekere is a small town 15kms from K.B.Cross along Tumkur - Shimogha road. Sri Mooleshankara Temple at Turuvekere was built in 12th century AD in Hoysala style of architecture. This temple consists of garbhagriha, antarala, navaranga and mukhamantapa. The roof slab stones were damaged due to fire accident long back. This temple is a Protected Monument of Department of State Archeology, Government of Karnataka. During restoration the debris around the temple was removed, the adhisthana was strengthened, stone members were chemically cleaned and the structure was rebuilt. The restoration of the temple took up during 1993-96. Daily pooja is being performed after restoration.
