Sri Shanthinatha Basadi
Bangadi village is at a distance of 20kms from Dharmasthala. Sri Shanthinatha Basadi belongs to 11th-12th century AD built by Veeranarasimha Bangaraja Odeyar. It consists of Garbhagriha, Antarala, a Sabhamantapa with eight stone pillars and now converted into 2 navaranga by constructing a wall in between the pillars. The structures added over the mahadwara and main basadi are of later period, may be of around 18th-19th century. They have added more attraction to the architectural style particularly to the basadis. The basadis were in a dilapidated condition due to massive imbalanced-load added over the mahadwara and main temple, as also due to rainwater and wild growth of vegetation. The restoration work was carried out during the year 2004-06.
